ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By TAHLIB
There are only two types of people in the world: creators and collectors. I believe, God created both for a joint purpose: sharing divine beauty. Artists create. Believers collect. It's a simple act of reciprocity where more than those two benefit. For months now, I have been following one of those talented artists (but not collecting his work). He'd given-up a well-paying non-arts career here in the city, to devote his talents full-time in service to God. Today, he is thriving in the art world, but with each new success, less and less of that early light shines through. This weekend, I saw him in his studio surrounded by new adoring fans celebrating his new life---but it was absent of God. How does this happen? I fault myself, and other Believers like me. There is an army of artists in every city who want to create for God, but they find that Believers don't support their gifts. So, when the gifted begin creating works for sale to non-believers, don't blame the artists. Don't blame God. Don't blame non-believers. Blame me.
